KOTC Heads to Wyandotte’s Yack Arena on August 5th

The Yack Arena in Wyandotte, MI is used to physical contact on its ice surface, but it’ll get taken up a notch as King of the Cage returns to the downriver area on Saturday August 5.

KOTC has put together another strong card full of a bunch of intriguing fights. And with this being the second card back in Michigan, it will feature some amateur fights this time around as well.

Victor Jones (4-6) puts his Light Heavyweight Super Fight title on the line as he takes on Jesse Murray (4-1). Both men are coming off knockout wins at the last KOTC event that was held in Michigan.

Murray is coming off of a nine second knockout over former KOTC champion Chad Herrick, and riding a two fight win streak. Jones is coming off of a knockout at 2:54 of the first round against former KOTC champ Brandon Hunt. Jones will look to use this fight to string some wins together, and build some momentum after a rough patch in his career. It’ll be interesting to see how he rebounds.

Next the card features two top Lightweight prospects as Canadian Kyle Prepolec (10-4) takes on Michigan State wrestling prospect Troy Lamson (8-2). Prepolec will bring his high level, powerful striking ability to this fight. He has finished his last two fights by KO/TKO over two of Michigan’s top prospects. Lamson is coming off of two dominating wins over his last opponents, and he will look to have Prepolec fighting off his back foot and show off his high level wrestling background.

As mentioned previously, this card has some good amateur fights on it as well. One of the Amateur fighters I am looking forward to seeing is Avan Bashi (2-0) out of Warrior Way. Bashi brings a good mix of Muay Thai and Brazilian Jujitsu, and he seems to have a bright future ahead of him. We’re curious if he can he make his third fight another first round finish.

All in the entire card is going to be loaded for any MMA fan in the area. The close quarters of the Yack will only enhance the evening. Even though the event is dubbed “The Second Coming”, it should be first on your list of weekend activities this weekend.
